Do I have time for distance learning?

Most students are balancing a variety of roles: student, worker, parent, daughter or son with all having their own set of commitments and pressures. The appeal of distance learning for such busy people is the flexibility it offers to them. Flexibility should not be mistaken for minimum time commitment, however. Most distance learning courses require the same time commitment as traditional courses.

What qualities make a good distance learner?

While distance learning can offer access and convenience to enrich learning opportunities, there are important differences between the traditional classroom setting and distance learning. Generally speaking, distance learning requires a higher degree of self-motivation and technological abilities. Good concentration and time management skills are key. However, the flexibility of distance learning opportunities can work well for non-traditional students with increased work and family responsibilities.
